We all know from the endless stream of media information how important it is to collect waste of various types of paper. We are told that collected paper can be recycled and reused as a valuable resource.
And our responsible civic position will save not a single tree and help save many other fuel and energy resources that are spent on the production of bleached office or newsprint paper. But is everything really as true as they are trying to tell us?
Yes and no. It is worth knowing that the collected waste of already used paper is actually recycled and used for secondary purposes.
But the composition of the material obtained during cooking from collected waste paper does not allow
in the future, obtain high-quality paper samples that can be used for the production of office paper, various stationery notebooks or newspapers.
As a rule, low-quality paper is subsequently produced from mixtures obtained during cooking
, which is used to produce toilet paper rolls and low-grade packaging cardboard.
Therefore, the constant advertising that sounds from the media about the importance of collecting waste paper should be treated with some skepticism.
Although it should be noted that there is also some truth in such information. At a minimum, there is actual conservation of areas of forest that will not be cut down to produce toilet paper or low-grade cardboard.
But at the same time, the costs of cooking recycled paper from fuel and energy resources will still be present in the cost of the received product.
And, as practice has shown, in fact, the country’s economic turnover does not use as many goods in the form of low-quality toilet paper and packaging cardboard as can be obtained from collected and recycled paper.
Therefore, the importance of sorting and collecting paper is present, but excessively collected and unclaimed paper by processors of secondary raw materials from procurement points can be sent
for disposal at a landfill or for subsequent incineration.
