Panel made from newspaper tubes

I would like to offer a very interesting idea on how to disguise peeled wallpaper, walls painted by children, nail holes, etc. A wall panel made from newspaper tubes looks very unusual, and most importantly stylish.

For making
we will need a panel: newspaper, maybe A4 landscape drafts, scissors, glue, double-sided tape, gouache, knitting needle.

How to make a panel from newspaper tubes

You need to take one sheet of A4 format and bend it horizontally 3 times and cut along the folds. The result is long strips measuring 297/70 mm.

Next, make a large number of blank newspaper tubes. Take a thin, long knitting needle and place it on the corner of a paper strip
and carefully and tightly roll it into a long tube.

We fix the ends with glue so that the tube does not unravel. We take out the knitting needle (it’s convenient when the knitting needle has a tip). It turns out to be a long tube about 30 cm long.

There should be enough such tubes to cover a certain area of the wall being decorated.

We begin to twist the finished tube so that it forms a spiral. Lubricate the end of the paper with glue and secure it with a clothespin.

Then we wind the next tube onto the same spiral to increase the volume. To compose the composition, you must get disks of different sizes.

When all the blanks are ready, you need to coat each disc well with PVA glue and let it dry well so that the decorations on the wall do not unwind.

Ready-made paper discs can be decorated with satin ribbons, beads, rhinestones, and coffee beans.

How to decorate newspaper tubes

The simplest option can be made together with children and decorated with gouache, alternating the necessary color schemes. For example, gold with brown and mother of pearl with emerald.

To display the original composition on the wall, you need to attach double-sided tape to the discs on the back side. Chaotically, alternating the sizes and colors of the circles, we decorate the wall, covering the unevenness.

Your child can independently attach paper discs to the wall, thereby covering up smeared wallpaper. By changing the color scheme of paper discs, you can lay out an original ornament.

The finished wall transforms the room and perfectly masks defects. Also, such paper discs can be used as coasters for cups. This will make a very original gift
with your own hands, which does not require material costs, and most importantly, exclusive and unique.
