How to make a light source from LEDs

It is important to make the connection correctly. The LED is easily penetrated by reverse voltage, which may not reach the direct operating voltage. You will not be mistaken if you apply the long leg to the positive polarity of the battery (the flat side, marked with a cross, is marked).

Most LEDs do not allow operation at voltages higher than 3 V. To make a lamp from an LED matrix to a USB interface, limiting resistors are used. Part of the power is lost through active resistance. The selection is made based on two contradictions:

  • If the resistance value is too small, the LED will burn out. Due to the laws of physics, the voltage is divided proportionally. It is easier to use a variable resistor and a 5V battery to select the desired value for the USB bus. For fans of calculations, we will also present the proportion; the formula is used to divide the voltage: U1/U2 = R1/R Where R1 is the resistance of the resistor, and R2 is the resistance of the diode to direct current. U1 U2 = 5 V. The last value is variable and is found from the current-voltage characteristic. It is necessary to divide the voltage by the current at the operating point. The characteristic approximately represents the branch of a parabola.
  • A resistor that is too large provokes considerable active losses. They are directly proportional to the amount of resistance. More often than not, several LEDs are switched on in series, followed by a resistor. We can use a lower denomination. The LED resistances add up, and instead of U2, the sum of the voltages will act. The possibility of a short circuit is eliminated in each element separately. There is no danger that the voltage will drop more than at the beginning of operation. If a single LED burns out, the entire branch goes out. There are three of them on the tapes.

LEDs rarely short out: combustion occurs at the p-n junction. If it is located in the thickness of the semiconductor, then there is no point, since the glow is invisible, and the perimeter is considered the useful part. LED device:

  1. Inside the transparent bulb, often consisting entirely of plastic or glass, there is a bridge with a gap.
  2. The halves are unequal. The large one is located approximately in the center of the “bullet” and is the cathode. The anode is smaller and located on the periphery.
  3. A thin thread is thrown over the abyss. At the tip, attached to the cathode, a pn junction is formed, visible from all directions. A thin vein does not interfere with the free passage of light.

Due to this structure, LEDs do not hold reverse voltage well. The p-n junction is so small that it breaks through easily. Why can’t it be thicker? There is no meaning. Poor cooling conditions simply do not allow large forward currents to pass through. If you increase the length of the semiconductor, this will cause an increase in the active resistance, which will naturally increase the power output in the operating state. The diameter of the pn junction cannot be increased: the efficiency drops sharply. Well, the thread should not be thick so as not to block the light.

A middle ground is chosen between efficiency and rationality. If you operate an LED at high voltage, it will gradually dim and burn out. The p-n junction material will melt due to poor cooling conditions.

Please note that for this reason they are trying to make the semiconductor layer thinner. To make the LED work longer, make the electrodes from platinum. It’s a bit expensive and irrational, but incandescent light bulbs started out that way (contacts made of precious metals).

How to make a snowman from cotton wool

The kids will be happy to learn how to make a snowman out of cotton wool, because this craft is very simple, even a kindergarten student can handle it. For this craft we will not use any tools: we will not need scissors, just a pack of cotton wool and PVA glue diluted with water.

This figurine, which you can make of any size, will take its place under the Christmas tree, next to the homemade Santa Claus. You can make such a New Year’s gift for your grandmother, and grandmothers especially appreciate everything made by the hands of their beloved grandson.

Many needlewomen know that there is a felting technique that allows you to create various decorations from wool. It boils down to the fact that fluffy wool is dumped into a solid lump using soap. We will use the same technique to create an original DIY snowman craft made from cotton wool.

First, unroll the lump, dividing it into cotton strips. Place a small container of water on your work surface to wet your fingers and a bar of soap. With carefully soaped fingers, roll balls, starting with a small lump, and then adding more and more pieces until the lump reaches the required size. Using the same principle, you need to roll up a second lump, smaller in size than the first.

Our snowman will consist of two lumps, but you can always make a third one, it should be the smallest, smaller than the previous two. Once you have felted the two balls, leave them to dry, placing them comfortably on the glasses. Then comes the second part of the craft: for this we need a PVA solution; in a bowl we need to dilute one part water and two parts glue.

Next, you need to start decorating, because the two connected lumps still bear little resemblance to a DIY snowman figurine. First, let’s take care of the spout; to complete it we will need a toothpick. You need to wrap cotton wool tightly around its tip, and then lubricate it with glue and paint it orange.

The head and body should also be secured to each other using a toothpick, which must first be lubricated with glue. Glue two beads onto the head to act as eyes. The body can be decorated with buttons, and twigs can be secured to the sides by sticking them into the body.

The huge rose is ready! I recommend watching this video!

In a hot air balloon.

Below we see a beautiful large snowman. It is made from two balloons. как сделать снеговика своими руками большого

Above the photo is a link to a video master class where you can see the whole process in motion. But for those who are in a hurry, I have posted here the main points of this craft.

The idea is simple and clear – we coat pieces of newspaper with glue. From my own experience, I’ll tell you that you can’t do this quickly with a brush (throw away the brush) – just pour glue into a saucer, scoop glue from the saucer with your fingers into your palm with the same hand, take a piece of paper and directly with your palm, in a split second, cover a piece of newspaper with glue and immediately onto the ball… grab it We place a new piece with a glue hand and onto the ball, and so on…

When the entire ball is covered with 3-4 layers of newspaper, leave it to dry for a day or overnight.
снеговик из ваоздушного шара как сделать

Using a knife, cut off the sharp part of the ball, where the tail is – take out the rubber ball, it is not needed. And cover the hole with masking tape or other tape.

This cut will be the BOTTOM of the snowman. And on top of the large ball we attach a smaller ball – also previously covered with newspaper. secure with tape or masking tape.

We cover the adhesive areas with patches from the same newspaper. And immediately from this newspaper we roll up a tight ball of the nose, and also wrap it with newspaper wet in glue – so that it becomes denser. And with several layers of newspaper patches we attach the nose to the front of the snowman.

Next, cover the entire surface of the snowman with white paint. We dry it and decorate it with buttons, a scarf, a hat and other items that match the image of the snowman you have in mind.

We also make the snowman’s arms from newspaper strips or wire. We make hands in the shape of twigs.

In my opinion, it’s better to take wire as a base and secure it firmly. Punch a hole through the left and right sides of the snowman so that the end of the wire comes out from the left side and from the right side. Wrap newspaper patches around the wire and form twig fingers. Dry, cover with brown gouache, sprinkle with hairspray.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE white paint. You can cover the snowman with a layer of white paper napkins (or white toilet paper) – 2-3 layers will hide the newspaper font and the snowman will turn white. You can also make the final layer of toilet paper in the form of strips with fringe. You will get the effect as in the photo below.

Features of selling lighting fixtures

In recent years, the range of lamps and chandeliers has expanded significantly: thanks to technical innovations and a variety of design ideas, customers have the opportunity to choose from a huge variety of models on offer.

When starting a business selling chandeliers and lamps, it is important to take into account existing modern trends in this area.

First of all, a new entrepreneur needs to study the current market and determine what qualities his company will need to have in order to become competitive. To do this, you will need to offer customers something interesting and unique, as well as establish a competent pricing policy.

When opening a store selling lamps and chandeliers, it is important to immediately identify potential buyers. Thus, the main assortment may be lighting fixtures for home and office. In the future, you can expand the offer by including lighting systems for industrial premises, cars, etc.

Having decided what assortment will be offered to customers, it is necessary to draw up a business plan for the enterprise. The following features are calculated in the business plan:

  • initial investments in opening a store, including renting or purchasing premises, purchasing goods, paying salaries to employees;
  • expected profit from the sale of lamps;
  • features of the pricing policy of the future enterprise. Setting prices for products is a very important stage, requiring a thorough study of the existing market and analysis of the products presented. Thus, for small inexpensive lamps the markup can be higher and range from 50 to 100 percent, while expensive chandeliers allow a maximum markup of 15%.

When deciding the price issue, it is important for an entrepreneur to determine which category of potential customers the enterprise will target: if a store of chandeliers and lighting fixtures is declared as elite, accordingly, the goods sold will be of high cost, but for a large number of buyers in In this case there is no need to count. Moreover, a luxury chandelier store assumes the high quality of the goods on sale.

Having drawn up a business plan and thought through all the expected costs, in accordance with the calculations made, pay attention to the following aspects:

  • searching for suitable premises to open a store;
  • purchase of goods;
  • selection of employees;
  • registration with the tax authority;
  • work with advertising.

It is important to write down the costs for each of these aspects in the business plan; as the enterprise develops, the costs incurred must be adjusted.

A more economical option would be to open an online store of lamps and chandeliers; at least you can significantly reduce the cost of renting premises and paying for utilities, paying employees and some other types of costs. At the same time, other nuances come to the fore.

In particular, it is important to create an online store website that will be convenient and functional for users. The staff must have website maintenance specialists and online consultants. Considerable attention should also be paid to the advertising campaign of an online store: if in the format of a regular store its main advertisement will be a bright display window with chandeliers turned on, then when you start selling online, you should start promoting your business online.

Crafts made from fabric and felt with patterns

And now, a whole section for needlewomen! We will look at what can be made from felt and fabric. Of course, this will require more time and perseverance than in the previous sections. However, the level of difficulty will be higher.

Master class No. 1. We are sewing a snow tower. I’ll give you the pattern.

Master class No. 2. We will sew soft toys. To do this, choose a fleecy soft fabric. White, gray or blue velvet is perfect.

  • velvet,
  • threads,
  • needles,
  • pin.

Take this pattern and transfer it first to a sheet of paper and then to the wrong side of the fabric.

To prevent the pieces from slipping off the fabric, pin them to both sides of the velvet. Trace the patterns and cut out several parts at once.

Now we sew all the blanks from the wrong side, leaving one edge not connected.

Through it we turn each piece inside out and stuff it with cotton wool or other filler. Sew the edges and attach all the details.

Now let’s turn our attention to the felt. We will need different shades of it. Of course, we will choose white as the main color.

Pattern No. 1. These beauties are quick to make. Use the pattern provided. Stuff a little filler inside to give the craft some volume.

Both voluminous and flat crafts can be made from fabric and felt.

DIY snowman made from socks

Making your own snowman is very easy without spending a lot of money.

For this you will need the following materials:

  • Threads;
  • pearl barley or rice;
  • beads, rhinestones, buttons, ribbon.

Take the sock and cut off the nose part. We put it aside.

Take most of the sock (with the heel) and tie one side with thread. You need to tie it tightly so that there is no hole left.

Pour cereal into a sock. It is better to take pearl barley or rice, because they are light and will not show through a white sock. We fall asleep almost to the very end, leaving a little fabric so that you can tie it with thread.

Tie a sock. The result is a white ball or oval.

Place the sock on one of the sides with a tied bun (preferably the one that is thicker). We begin to wrap the filled sock with thread just above the middle. The bottom part should be larger than the top.

Let’s start decorating. We tie a ribbon between the balls, which are separated by threads. The ribbon is the snowman’s scarf.

Take rhinestones or beads and glue them like eyes, a nose and a mouth. It is better to glue it with adhesive moment.

Liquid glue will not work; it gets absorbed into the sock and the beads fall off.

Take the cut off toe part of the sock and make a bend. We put it on the snowman’s head. It turns out to be a hat.

Two beautiful snowmen come out of a pair of socks. They turn out very cute and lift your spirits. They will be a wonderful decoration for the holiday.

Create a bouquet of kinder surprises and soft toys | crafts fair magazine

I decided to film the process of creating a bouquet of kinder surprises and soft toys. I hope it will be useful to someone 🙂 Don’t judge the photos strictly until you have purchased a good camera.

So let’s get started.

Required materials and tools:

– kinder surprises (3 pcs.);

– small soft toys (I have 3 Teddy);

– sticks for sushi (or for kebabs – 3 pcs.);

– wire (3 pieces approximately 15-20cm each);

– for packaging – organza and corrugated paper;

– for decoration – ribbons;

– scissors;

– glue gun;

– scotch tape.

Создаем букет из киндер-сюрпризов и мягких игрушек, фото № 1

1. We wrap each toy with wire around the abdomen, bending the long end of the wire down.

Создаем букет из киндер-сюрпризов и мягких игрушек, фото № 2

2. Cut off squares or rectangles from the organza measuring approximately 20*20 cm (so that you can completely wrap the kinder surprise). We wrap the kinder in an organza square, connect all 4 corners of our square at the bottom, put in a wooden stick and wrap it all with tape, at the top under the kinder we make several turns so that when holding the stick the kinder holds straight and does not fall on its side.

Создаем букет из киндер-сюрпризов и мягких игрушек, фото № 3

Создаем букет из киндер-сюрпризов и мягких игрушек, фото № 4

3. Cut another 3 squares of organza to decorate our kinder surprises, smaller ones (15*15cm). Fold the square diagonally, put the kinder in the middle and wrap it, tying it with ribbons. If the tapes are packaging, we draw them along the ends with scissors to get spirals.

4. We begin to collect a bouquet – we connect 3 kinders on sticks in our hands and screw the toys with wires (each toy to one of the kinders), we get:

Создаем букет из киндер-сюрпризов и мягких игрушек, фото № 7

5. To secure it and to obtain a handle for our bouquet, we wrap the resulting structure with several layers of tape.

Создаем букет из киндер-сюрпризов и мягких игрушек, фото № 8

6. Let’s start with the final decor. To add volume, I added a few more organza strands under each toy, tied it all to the handle with strings and rolled the ends of the ribbons into spirals with scissors.

7. Cut a ribbon about 2 cm wide and about 20 cm long from the corrugated paper and pull it out.

Above in the photo is what an unstretched ribbon looks like, already stretched below. We carefully wrap the handle of our bouquet with this tape, securing it with a glue gun.

8. Cut a sheet of corrugated paper large enough to wrap the bouquet. We stretch the top edge by about 1.5 lines (there are divisions on corrugated paper, so 1.5 divisions), stretch the bottom edge only at the very tip to get a wavy skirt. We wrap the bouquet, secure the upper edges with a glue gun, and tie with ribbon.

Let’s admire it!

Stages of organizing a business selling lamps and chandeliers

When opening your own business selling lighting fixtures, it is important to decide not only on the assortment, but also on the location of the store. The ideal solution would be the city center or one of its busy areas with high traffic. In such an area you can count on the largest number of potential customers and higher profits.

At the same time, you need to form a portrait of a potential buyer and decide on the most popular price category. This information is also used when purchasing goods. To ensure that the entire assortment is in demand, it is important to monitor the market in your city before purchasing and understand what types of lamps and chandeliers are in greatest demand among buyers.

As a rule, most of the assortment should represent lighting fixtures for apartments and houses in the middle price segment; elite exclusive chandeliers should definitely be on sale, but make up a smaller part. When purchasing goods, even from the low price segment, you should give preference only to high-quality products, trusting well-known manufacturers on the market.

The store itself should be spacious and have enough space to accommodate most of the assortment. If the store is properly designed, it will be quite bright and noticeable from afar, which in itself will be good advertising.

When developing the design of a store, it is important to create several trading areas, which will be differentiated by theme and type of lighting fixtures. Thus, you can separately place lamps according to their intended purpose (domestic and industrial), in accordance with the installation method (separately for ceiling, wall and others) and according to other criteria.

The next stage is recruiting personnel for the store. The level of sales, and therefore the success of the enterprise, largely depends on how qualified the employees are.

First of all, the following specialists will be needed:

  • two or more sellers (depending on the size of the store and its opening hours);
  • accountant (you can outsource the position);
  • marketer;
  • specialist in website creation and maintenance (freelancer or outsourcer);
  • technical staff.

In order to save on wages, all employees, excluding salespeople, can be hired through outsourcing companies.

A well-developed advertising campaign will contribute to a significant increase in sales already at the initial stage of the store’s operation.

Particular attention should be paid to the following aspects:

All of the above methods in combination will be the most effective. Many store owners specifically hire a marketing specialist; some of them turn to specialized agencies to develop an advertising campaign, which allows them to save money spent on advertising.
