DIY furniture for dolls: 9 step-by-step master classes

What can be done

At first glance, you might think that cardboard is a fragile material that requires special handling. On the one hand, this is correct, on the other hand, having chosen the desired type of cardboard, you don’t have to worry about its further use. Cardboard furniture will be durable and practical if you follow the sequence of work and recommendations for using tools.

To choose an option for making a furniture product yourself, you need to consider several proposals:

  1. Toy furniture made of cardboard – it’s profitable and creative to make your own furniture for dolls. If children require the purchase of a new house for Barbie with all the accompanying accessories, the solution would be to produce this option with your own hands;
  2. Bookshelves are considered one of the simplest cardboard products. They don’t take much time to make, and the books don’t put much stress on the cardboard;
  3. The original table will not be a dining table on which dishes are constantly located, but a small coffee or coffee table. A child can perform developmental tasks on such a piece of furniture, because it is designed for a light load;
  4. Chest of drawers – this type of furniture is convenient for storing documents or papers; children’s accessories will also fit here. It is easier to make a chest of drawers from cardboard boxes from large appliances, such as a refrigerator;
  5. Shoe rack – an original shoe stand in the form of triangular cells will fit comfortably into any hallway. Entering the room, all guests will be surprised at how convenient and practical the rack turned out to be;
  6. Small chair for children – since cardboard is not intended for heavy loads, furniture for children is what you need. A small chair for your baby will become his favorite object, where he can draw or play.

As you can see, cardboard furniture is easy to make. To make it you need the simplest material and a minimum of tools.

How to make hyacinth from paper rings on an oval base

What can a child give to his mother? Of course, a simple DIY craft, and it’s best if it’s a flower made of paper, since the availability of this material is obvious, and all mothers love flowers. Your child, independently or with a little help from an adult, will be able to make a hyacinth from paper rings on an oval base according to the illustrated descriptions that this master class has. The finished flower craft – hyacinth will be a good gift for mom or will decorate a child’s room. So let’s start making a flower – hyacinth.

To make a hyacinth flower, prepare:

– purple and green paper;

– scissors;

– glue;

– pencil.

“building” a house

From me a detailed master class with photos. Hope it helps you!

  • Let’s start by collecting all the boxes to imagine what our model will look like.
  • If the boxes are not the same size or you want to complicate the task for yourself and your baby and make holes for windows and doors, then it’s worth making a drawing.
  • It is advisable, before firmly connecting all the parts of the house, to prepare each box separately. What needs to be done for this? Cover the walls, floor and ceiling of each “room”. Cut out windows and doors. To cover a cardboard box, wrapping paper, oilcloth, wallpaper, colored paper, fabric, etc. are suitable. A combination of different materials and colors will look nice. домик для кукол из коробки своими руками
  • After all the boxes are ready, you can glue them one to another according to a pre-planned pattern. The easiest way to glue is with hot glue.
  • All that remains is to decorate the doll’s apartment, fill it with furniture and beautiful things. To decide how best to do this, consider what kind of doll you are building it for. For example, Barbie loves pink colors. Her style is that of a princess. This should all be reflected in furniture, furnishings, chandeliers, photographs and other details. You can not only make curtains on the windows, but also decorate them with miniature bows, etc. Agree with curtains the house immediately becomes cozy! шторы для кукольного дома
  • Don’t ignore the roof either. It can be covered with fabric or paper. You can even print out a colored roof background and glue it to cardboard. And there are other options: from buttons, from disposable plates, from colored cardboard. крыша для кукольного дома
    Beautiful tiles are made from cardboard крыша для кукольного дома

The little one’s help will depend entirely on how interested the parents are and involved them in the process. Therefore, show your creative processes, prepare your baby with a fairy tale or an interesting story. Assign him a certain task or ask him for advice on a craft.

Paper furniture for dolls

To make a paper doll table with a cute mosaic top, prepare:

  • thick paper or cardboard;
  • awl;
  • ruler;
  • stationery knife or scissors;
  • plain colored cardboard;
  • wooden skewers or toothpicks;
  • glue;
  • thick thread.

First of all, cut out the base of the future tabletop from thick paper or cardboard. Determine the dimensions according to the doll. Make holes in the corners for the legs and on 4 sides for the racks. The latter will be needed for wicker decor.

A beautiful mosaic tabletop will be made from small squares of colored cardboard, which are glued to its upper part.

Insert toothpicks into the holes, additionally securing with glue. Weave the legs of the doll table with threads in a spiral, the edges of which are also secured with glue.

Glue the end of a thick thread to the bottom plane of the tabletop near any counter. Braid the posts and legs, passing the thread alternating over and under them. It is important that the weaving is tight enough, but not too tight on the posts – this can deform the product.

Binding can be partial or complete, at your discretion. At the end, decorate its upper and lower edges with a braid woven from the same threads.

Next, prepare the base for the shelf. To do this, glue toothpicks crosswise at the required level or tie two dense threads in the same way. Place a rectangle of cardboard or thick paper on top and secure with glue.

Furniture for a doll can also be very stylish. How about a bean bag chair or charming ottomans made from ordinary plastic lids, covered with fabric with soft filling?

Let’s not forget about the details. A mini wall clock made from a large button is a great addition to a cozy dollhouse.

Surprisingly, even ordinary wooden clothespins can serve as a luxurious material for creating, for example, such a miracle doll bench!

Doll furniture decorated with knitted covers and other openwork details will look very cute, cozy and homely.

More wonderful examples of doll furniture are presented in the following photos.

As you can see, creating beautiful furniture for a doll with your own hands is not at all difficult. If you start the process creatively, you can make items no worse than those sold in fashionable children’s toy boutiques.

Do-it-yourself wooden couch – manufacturing technology and a complete set of drawings

Simple DIY Country Daybed

This furniture will be of interest to owners of country cottages and summer houses. The couch is one of those furniture models that are appropriate for use in gazebos, open verandas and other places intended for outdoor recreation.

We tried to simplify carpentry work as much as possible, which made the manufacture of the product accessible even to less experienced craftsmen. To complete the work you will need pine boards, varnish and fastening hardware.

For tools, you need a set of hand-held electric tools or a universal household woodworking machine. We provide a complete set of drawings; we believe that it is more convenient for you to use them than to change dimensions. Firstly, this way you guarantee that mistakes will not be made.

Secondly, the manufacturing time of the couch will be significantly reduced. And thirdly, during sizing calculations, all recommendations of furniture standards and GOSTs were taken into account.

The linear dimensions of the couch fit standard mattresses; you can put “old-fashioned spring” and “new-fashioned” foam rubber on it. By the way, the most “advanced” mattress manufacturing companies began to produce spring mattresses and called it “innovative” technology.

At the same time, they forgot that our grandfathers and great-grandfathers slept on this “innovative” technology. The main invisible “innovation” is the increase in the number of springs, but the more noticeable “innovation” is that the price has increased tenfold.

Okay, let’s leave the mattresses alone and move on to making a couch, this is a more interesting topic.

Brief description of the design

The couch is made collapsible/dismountable; this option was chosen specifically so that it could be more easily transported from place to place. The material of manufacture is coniferous boards; in terms of price and quality, absolutely most consumers are satisfied.

All carpentry connections and elements are as simple as possible, which allows even less experienced craftsmen to make the product. Another feature is that the upper slats of the back and sides are not installed at a right angle, but with an inclination.

This technique significantly increases comfort; sharp edges do not rest on the back.

Preparing for work

Before making individual parts, you need to prepare the necessary lumber, the surfaces should be smooth, the wood should not have noticeable flaws, try to choose sections of the boards with a minimum number of knots.

Check the serviceability of the tools, sharpen the cutting elements – this approach will not only improve the quality of processing, but will also save quite a lot of time.

Why? You will have to do much less grinding and final fitting of parts.

Manufacturing of parts

We recommend starting with the sides. Pay attention to how the slats are attached to the boards. The lamellas themselves have a spike at the ends, but the grooves for them are not made separately, but for all of them together.

Mill a groove along the entire length of the board with dimensions for a tenon, the groove should be centered and level.

Next, wooden spacers should be made, the length of the spacers should be equal to the distance between the lamellas, the thickness should correspond to the width of the through groove, and the height should be equal to the depth of the groove.

How to assemble the structure is shown in the figure; pre-lubricate all parts with transparent wood glue. And another important condition – select the dimensions of individual parts in such a way that the mating elements fit in with little effort. Once the sides are assembled, clamp them together and leave them to dry completely, which will take at least 24 hours.

In this way, make four blanks, glue them together for at least 24 hours, making sure that the joints of the individual boards are in the same plane during manufacturing. To do this, try to install a lot of clamps in places where flatness may be disrupted.

The last stage of making the legs is to use a template to draw the exact outline of the legs on the blanks and cut them out with an electric jigsaw. Sand the cut thoroughly; the edges can be slightly rounded by hand using sandpaper.

To check the accuracy of the legs (and this is a very important factor), connect them all together with clamps and fit them along one contour.

Use the same algorithm to make the back. Do not forget that the upper parts must be fastened with a slope, and the lower slats must be at an angle of 90°. When all the individual elements are assembled, proceed to install the metal clips, they are used to create a collapsible/dismountable mechanism.

Due to the fact that the couch can have quite large side loads, it is worth strengthening the places where the clips are fixed. We offer a very simple, but very reliable strengthening option, trust our experience – the connection will be as reliable as possible. How to achieve this effect? Mark where the screws for attaching the clips will be screwed in.

Drill through holes with a diameter of at least two centimeters in the planks in these places, and insert wooden dowels into the holes with glue. The dowels should be made of oak or any other durable wood, the landing sites should be sanded again and, if necessary, puttied.

Self-tapping screws in oak will hold very firmly, there will be no wobbling during the entire period of operation, this has been verified by experience.

Making slats for a mattress

These are the simplest parts, make them at least 25 millimeters thick, the length should correspond to the width of the couch, the width is arbitrary. The distance between the lamellas should not exceed 3÷4 centimeters, otherwise the load on one part may exceed the permissible one.

The ends of the lamellas should lie on the bars, the dimensions of the bars are ≈30×30 millimeters. Attach the bars to the wooden planks with self-tapping screws; select the length of the screws taking into account the total thickness of the two parts being connected. It is advisable to fix the lamellas on the bar using any available method.

We recommend nailing small strips to it at a calculated distance from each other. The distance should be slightly greater than the width of the lamellas.

Final finishing

There are three finishing options – coat with clear varnish, treat with alcohol stain or paint with opaque paints. All options, in our opinion, are completely equivalent. Make an individual choice for yourself, taking into account the style of the furniture already in the room.

Before applying topcoats, thoroughly sand all surfaces and clean them from dust. Do not buy cheap varnishes or paints, some of them have the “harmful” ability to raise pile. This defect can be corrected later in only one way – re-grinding.

Who wants to do the same job twice through no fault of their own? We don’t know about you, but we don’t enjoy the first sanding at all.

Book sofa: how to make it yourself

You need to start making a sofa book with your own hands by creating the main frame structural elements. These are the seat and back, sides and a storage box.

DIY sofa step by step. Photos

• Box

Work begins by making a box. You will need to take two boards one hundred and ninety centimeters long and one eighty centimeters long. Their width is twenty centimeters and their thickness is two and a half centimeters. You also need four bars 20cm long and with a cross section of 5x5cm.

A box is assembled from these materials.

The structure is supplemented with slats installed transversely, made of boards 80 cm long, 5 cm wide and 2 cm thick. The bottom is covered with a fiberboard sheet with dimensions of 190x80cm.

• Seat and backrest

To make the frames of the seat and back, take a beam with a section of 40x60cm. A rectangle of 189x65cm is made from it. The timber parts are connected with nails and self-tapping screws, drilling holes.

Wood slats are attached to the finished frames. They will become a support for the mattress.

• Armrests

First, the side walls of the sofa are cut out from a sheet of chipboard, the thickness of which is 2.5 cm. The dimensions are in the photo.

Then a frame is knocked down according to the same dimensions, to which the sawn wall is attached.

Holes are drilled on the sides of the box with a drill with a diameter of 10 mm.

• Assembly

When all the frames are assembled, the sofa parts are connected. To assemble a sofa book with your own hands, you will need special mechanisms. They are sold in hardware stores intended for upholstered furniture. They are attached so that there is a gap of 1 cm between the back and the seat (when they are unfolded). When folded, the seat should not extend beyond the level of the armrests.

• Laying foam rubber

Non-woven fabric is attached over the slats. Foam rubber sheets, the thickness of which is about six centimeters, are laid on it. To ensure that the sheet is correctly placed on the frame and does not cover the transformation mechanism, pieces are cut out in the corners.

To make a soft cushion on the edge of the seat, glue a strip of foam rubber 2 cm thick and 20 cm wide. Glue another sheet of foam rubber on top, the thickness of which is 4 cm. Its edge is folded down, under the seat.

Similar actions are performed with the back. Then covers, sewn to size, are pulled over the back and seat.

To make soft armrests, a foam roller is made on them. Foam rubber is used with a thickness of 4 cm. The width of the strip is initially 15 cm, and towards the middle it decreases to 5 cm.

Foam rubber 2 cm thick is fixed on top.

Such foam rubber is glued to the inside of the armrest at a distance of 32 cm from the bottom edge.

After gluing, the back of the foam sheet is secured on top of the existing material. The excess is cut off.

The front of the armrest has protruding edges that need to be tucked under.

Finished parts are covered with fabric and fittings are nailed to them.

All that remains is to assemble the sofa completely with your own hands.

Making a massage table. step by step instructions

Tabletop assembly

We begin work on creating a massage table from the tabletops. From plywood we cut out two identical ones measuring 600×900 mm. In one of them, using a jigsaw, we cut out a piece of plywood so that we get an oval-shaped hole measuring 180×120 mm.

Drawings for making a massage table top

Next we move on to assembling the frame. The frames must exactly match the size of the plywood. You need to connect the beams together with self-tapping screws (45 mm), having previously drilled holes for them. This action will protect the timber from cracking. We screw the plywood to the frame with 20 mm long screws.

For convenience, we cover the resulting parts with foam rubber and the fabric chosen for this. You should start with foam rubber. Having cut out the necessary pieces to the size of the plywood, we fix it with glue on the tabletop. If part of the foam protrudes somewhere, it should be cut off using a stationery knife.

We upholster the resulting workpiece with leather or its substitute using a stapler. You should start with the long sides, then move on to the short ones, keeping a distance of 10 cm between the staples. On each tabletop, on the short part, the fabric should be secured to the side, and not under the tabletop. This is where the hinges will be attached.

Place for attaching hinges on one of the short sides of each tabletop

Legs for massage table

Using a hacksaw or jigsaw, it is necessary to cut sets of blanks 885, 695 and 555 mm from the timber. We make the first two supports by taking 2 beams 885 mm and 1,555 mm, fixing them with an overlap. Distance to cross beam 760 mm. We cut the ends of the long beams with a jigsaw at an angle of 41 degrees. The angle may be more obtuse, but the same on all supports.

Drawing of legs for a massage table

The second two parts need to be assembled into a wooden floor from 2 bars 695 mm and 1,555 mm. We cut the ends of the assembled part at a 30 degree angle and connect both parts using loops. We check how well it works, whether there is any friction. In order not to overweight the hinges, they should first be attached to the central screw, and only after checking should they be screwed in completely.

We connect the supports and fasten them with screws

Spacer for a homemade massage table

To make a spacer, we will use a 1060 mm timber, sawn into two parts connected by a loop. Attach with loops to the beam in the middle between the legs, sticking to the middle. The length is selected individually. The height of the table directly depends on this value. You need to choose it individually depending on your height.

How to make a doll bedside table with drawers

DIY furniture for dolls: 9 step-by-step master classes

You will need:

  • Several boxes of matches according to the number of boxes.
  • Cardboard strip, wide enough to cover the required number of boxes.
  • Shiny foil.
  • Scissors, glue.
  • Several golden plastic beads according to the number of boxes.

Take the boxes, fold them together lengthwise. You should have a table of the planned height. A few pieces can be removed or added, depending on the final idea. Glue the parts of the boxes stacked in a row. Take the cardboard, bend it in the right places, completely wrap it around the side where there are no drawers. Then glue the cardboard. When finished, carefully trim its edges with scissors and begin decorating.

DIY furniture for dolls: 9 step-by-step master classes

Decorating a glamorous bedside table can be different. If you cover it with shiny colored paper, similar to multi-colored foil, it will create a glamorous look, especially if it is crimson, silver, or gold. If you want the bedside table to look like a real one, then use imitation wood, colored wallpaper with small patterns, or paper similar to them. This is sold in children’s art stores.

Gently straighten the paper and apply glue to the reverse side. Spread it so that the foil becomes even. Then cover the back and sides with paper, level it until it dries. This is done with the side of a ruler or a blunt turn of the knife.

Once it’s dry, start working on the handles. Take a bead and drop glue on its base. Place it in the middle of the drawer drawer. Do the same with the rest of the beads, which should form an even row. They can be replaced with voluminous self-adhesive rhinestones. When they dry, the bedside table is ready.

The presence of wheels on the blockers has little effect on the price. The main components of the cost of a medical table are its quality and functionality. Thus, a mobile cosmetology table costs from 5,000 to 200,000 rubles.

Don’t skimp on the couch if you’re working on the flow. Firstly, you get less tired. In addition, the more comfortable the table/chair, the more time you save on moving a person into the desired position.

When choosing a table for sugaring, pay attention to the massage table. They all have a height adjuster and can be folding or stationary.

Mobile ones (on wheels) break down faster; they are designed for a client’s weight of up to 100 kg. The weight of the structure should not be too light; light weight indicates that thin materials were used in the production of the couch. A lightweight table may not support a client with an above-average weight.

If you do not practice work on the road and there is enough space in the room, it is better to choose a stationary model with a height adjuster and a maximum number of settings for the head and bottom parts. Of course, it is better to buy a reliable design in terms of load, upholstered in leatherette or leather.

As for choosing the height of the medical table, choose it according to your height. For heights of 170 cm and above, the standard height is not enough; you have to bend over. In this case, a couch with adjustable height is suitable.

Also pay attention to the color and shape of the structure. It’s good if the furniture fits harmoniously into the interior without creating dissonance. An atmosphere of balance and comfort will give positive emotions to both the client and the artist.

Despite the fact that the sugar hair removal procedure involves the use of a disposable diaper, the medical table is disinfected after each client. Even apparently healthy skin may contain pathogenic or conditionally pathogenic microorganisms that will cause inflammation in the next client.

For disinfection, the fast-acting agent AHD 2000 express is used (combines disinfection and pre-sterilization treatment), chlorine disinfectant Blanidas 300, aldehyde-containing agent Lysoformin 3000.

It is important to note that disinfectant solutions must be used in accordance with the instructions. Some products may not work undiluted. So, 96° alcohol does not kill some pathogenic microorganisms. And 70% (diluted by 30% with distilled water) destroys them.

Watch our videos that will help you choose the right couch for sugaring. The first video contains 10 tips on how to choose the right couch. The second one is a review of a functional cosmetology couch with removable armrests.

What equipment do you use for your work? What types and models of sugaring couches do you recommend based on personal experience? How do you care for them? Write in x.

Required materials

The choice of manufacturing materials is an important step, since the durability of the structure and reliability depend on their quality. When buying lumber, you need to take a slightly larger quantity. This causes the presence of defective elements.

For the kitchen structure you will need:

  • Bars 15*15 mm – 1.2 m;
  • Bars with a section of 40*40 mm – 0.135 m;
  • Bars 25*25 mm – 3.6 m;
  • Bars 30*30 mm – 1.2 m;
  • Board with a section of 20*350 – 1 m;
  • Rail 20*60 mm – 2.1 m;
  • Plywood 1.2*45*255 cm;
  • Foam rubber;
  • Plugs for fastening;
  • Piano hinges;
  • Angles;
  • Euro bolts;
  • Wood glue.
  • Chipboard.

Materials for making a corner sofa. крепления

Various types of fastenings.

Before starting the main work, it is important to decide on the size of the sofa. Craftsmen do not recommend performing it according to standard parameters, since the slightest deviation from the norm can ruin the design.

Dimensional plan of kitchen sofa:

  1. Main sofa: length 1.2 m, height 0.85 m, backrest height 0.3 m;
  2. Side sofa – 0.45*0.45 m;
  3. The width of the side panels is 0.45 m;
  4. Seat height – 0.4 m.

These figures are conditional, but experts recommend not deviating from the parameters, otherwise the risk of production defects will increase.

Deciding on design and construction

The most popular, practical option is the kitchen corner sofa. This design can be used by disassembling into separate sectors or placed in one piece, along the perimeter of the wall.

кухня с диваном

In addition, the models are appropriate in the kitchen interior and practical in everyday life.

So, by covering the wooden panels of the sofa with varnish, you can protect it from the influence of humidity, dampness, and excessive dry air. A corner installation, consisting of two benches with a rounded middle, will take up a small space in the kitchen, which is very convenient.

зеленый диван на кухне

The aesthetically attractive glossy finish makes it easier to remove greasy stains from the surface.

There are two types of corner sofa: stationary, sliding. The first one is easier to install, so it will perfectly “teach the hand” of a novice master. The sliding design is troublesome to implement, but outwardly it is quite presentable. By following the diagrams and recommendations, it is possible to make both types with your own hands the first time.

кухня с угловым диваном

Since most dining tables are wooden, the base and handrails of the corner should be made of a similar material.

When designing your dream kitchen sofa, you need to decide on the upholstery. It is this detail that will create an original, interesting piece of furniture. The choice of cushioning material can be microfiber or artificial leather. To make the sofa seats as soft as possible, it is important to choose the filling wisely.

You should choose the filler based on your preferences.

Rules for working with cardboard

In order for furniture made with your own hands at home to turn out not only beautiful, but durable, a number of rules must be followed. They will help you make high-quality products that will appeal to all household members:

  1. Gluing layers – when working with single-layer cardboard or to strengthen furniture, it is necessary to glue the material. When gluing cardboard together, try to place the layers perpendicular to each other – this is how they give increased rigidity;
  2. Selecting glue – people who have already made furniture from this material recommend using Moment glue. It does not get wet after application and instantly holds product parts together. You can also purchase a glue gun and thermal sticks, which melt when heated, creating a glue trail;
  3. Why kraft paper is needed – kraft paper is used to cover the edges and joints of furniture. With this move, the furniture looks neater. Before gluing, the joints are cleaned with sandpaper. You need to remember that the paper cannot be cut – it must be torn with your hands. This way the layers will become smooth, without transitions;
  4. Features of cutting – during the manufacture of cardboard furniture, special attention is paid to cutting the material. Usually a stationery knife is used – it is important that it is always sharp, because the accuracy of the parts depends on it. If thick cardboard is difficult to cut, you can use a jigsaw.

Using a jigsaw, the work goes much faster. It is important to carefully cut the parts and avoid mistakes, because the tool is too powerful for cardboard.

Assembly process

All prepared parts are glued together using a glue gun or Moment glue. If assembly is carried out using grooves, they are also glued for strength. It is recommended to repair all unevenness on the surface of thick cardboard using putty – it will not leave marks, and the excess will be hidden under the finish.

Parts that require gluing in layers must be placed under the press. Books or other heavy objects are good for this. After gluing, they are left for several hours, or better yet, for the whole day, until completely dry. All resulting ribs must be masked using craft paper.

  • Decoupage – pasting with napkins;
  • Painting with acrylic composition;
  • Wallpapering;
  • Using self-adhesive film;
  • Decorating using mixtures.

Finished furniture can be used for its intended purpose within a day after production. Anyone can make furniture from cardboard with their own hands; how to find patterns and diagrams will be discussed below.

Strengthening structures

Each part must be processed after cutting with a knife. This happens in the following way:

  1. Cleaning. The cut edges of the module must be sanded. This technique will give them smoothness and prepare them for further processing;
  2. Pasting. Kraft paper is used for this. It must be torn by hand, and then carefully glued over the edges using PVA glue. You can apply paper to the entire surface, which creates additional reinforcement.

Furniture assembled using grooves will be durable and reliable. In the photo below you can see the principle of making such furniture: during the cutting process, oblong holes are additionally outlined, which are subsequently cut out. An additional structure is inserted into the grooves, which fastens the frame on both sides. Thanks to this, the furniture becomes stronger.

Stiffening ribs are often used, which additionally secure the base of the furniture. Using them, you can independently strengthen a cardboard tabletop, a shoe shelf, or a bookcase. The stiffening ribs and grooves must be coated with glue. By strengthening the structure, you won’t have to worry about the durability of the furniture in the future.

Forming parts

It is worth noting that when cutting out parts there should be no visible bends. If the work is done on a box of household appliances, it is better to cut on smooth edges. From six-layer cardboard you can make your own furniture of increased strength, for example, a shelf for shoes or books.

The details of the product are formed using a sharp stationery knife. Craftsmen advise using a construction knife if you plan to work with multi-layered raw materials. As the knife becomes dull, its blade is replaced. A dull knife will not be able to cut the required part smoothly and along the contour – you will have to redo the pattern.

Depending on the type of furniture assembly, parts may be:

  • Insert;
  • Glued;
  • Stackable.

The last option involves gradually building up the cardboard to achieve optimal thickness. This move will further strengthen the model, preventing it from sagging under loads. It is beneficial to use cardboard sleeves in the design – special tubes with a high density.
