Required materials:
- thick double-sided paper in blue, gray or brown;
- light paper;
- satin ribbon;
- scissors;
- pen and pencil;

We gather the ribbon into a fold and glue a bead to it. 
Cut out a small rectangle from light paper. We take a piece of tape, gather it in folds and glue it to the inside of the workpiece. 
Glue the pocket onto the jacket.

What is this?

This is hand-made postcards using scrap materials. Each such card is unique, because this is the meaning of cardmaking itself. Create something that will not need to be repeated. Postcard in a single copy.
All novice scrappers have probably heard of this concept. Therefore, today we will look at what cardmaking consists of. Are there fundamentals and directions/styles in this type of creativity?
The answers are yes! And yes! There are both basics and styles 🙂 Let’s start getting acquainted!
The technique of making postcards (cardmaking) is closely related to scrapbooking. All the same materials are used, but there are exceptions. For cardmaking the following are used: card blanks, paper (glossy, tracing paper, designer paper) or cardboard, elements for decoration (beads, ribbons, brads, artificial materials, powders, glitter, etc.), consumables (double-sided tape, glue dots , paints). This can be called the basis.

Cardmaking: this can be a double ordinary card.
Or a whole paper “construction”.
If you dive a little into history, you will notice something interesting.
Cardmaking is not a new type of handmade work and creativity. In fact, postcards were made in many countries back in ancient times, and in Europe, since the 13th century, postcards began to gain popularity. Of course, this was an extremely expensive pleasure, which was available only to wealthy people. This slowed down the development of creating postcards, both with your own hands and with the help of craftsmen. But printing made significant changes to the familiar picture of the world of postcards, and therefore postcards. Already in the 19th century, along with books, printed postcards began to appear! And, as you know, the presence of a huge amount of goods made on a machine very often gives rise to a boom in homemade work!
Today cardmaking
(like many types of creativity) is not only an outlet and favorite pastime for creative people, but also an additional source of income. A postcard can not only be given to family and friends, but also sold or exchanged for something.
Cardmaking styles are closely intertwined with scrap styles. We discussed this topic in great detail in one of our publications earlier, in September.
But briefly and on topic, any style is appropriate in cardmaking! From the beloved shabby to the defiant freestyle. If we discard all concepts about style x, then you can make a postcard from what is in the box from the main scrap works. Create a masterpiece from leftovers!

New Year card
Winter holidays are a truly magical time, when you especially want to please your loved ones even with such a pleasant little thing as a postcard.
You will need the following materials:
- white and colored cardboard;
- glossy cardboard;
- silver handle;
- pencil;
- scissors;
- glue.
Fold a sheet of white cardboard in half. We make markings on the inside, as shown in the photo.
We cut the lines with scissors and bend the elements in the opposite direction. 
We decorate the card using colored cardboard, as shown in the photo. 
We cut out small stars for decoration from cardboard and glue them to the card. 
On the sides we glue stripes of the same color as the stars. 
If desired, you can cut out the inscription and add it to the main composition. 
Fold a sheet of glossy cardboard in half. 
Glue the blank with decor to the inside. 
Take a sheet of white cardboard and cut out a small rectangle. It is he who will decorate the front of the postcard. We cut out various decorative elements from colored cardboard and glue them. We complement the composition with a drawing with a silver pen. 
From glossy cardboard we cut out a rectangle smaller than the blank for decoration. From the inside we glue a blank with decorative elements. 
Glue the resulting blank to the front of the card. 
Volume postcard
When considering the issue of making postcards, you cannot lose sight of the instructions on how to make a three-dimensional postcard with your own hands from paper.
Prepare the following supplies:
- multi-colored double-sided cardboard;
- multi-colored paper;
- stick glue;
- markers and pencils.
Let’s get to work:
- the first thing we’ll do is flowers. For them we will need seven squares with sides of 10 by 10 centimeters;
- fold one square three times like this. To make a triangle. Draw a petal on it. Cut out and open the workpiece. You should have the finished base of the flower in front of you. We repeat the same steps with the remaining squares;
- decorate flowers. We draw each blank with small strokes. We leave two petals on each blank unpainted;
- cut off one of the petals that was not decorated. We treat the second petal with glue and connect it to the neighboring one. It turns out a voluminous flower;
- take three flowers and bend each one. Apply glue to those petals marked with a cross. Glue the remaining flowers to these places. Glue the finished composition onto the base of the card;
- close the card, iron everything. And open, in front of you are voluminous flowers that look like real ones. All you have to do is add the inscription and the card is ready!
Volumetric Mother’s Day card for 2nd grade 20 ideas with flowers
Almost every second grader can do this version of a DIY postcard for mom. All it takes is a little time and diligence.
We will use:
- Colored cardboard and paper
- Double-sided tape
- Wooden skewer (or chopstick)
- Ribbons
- Scissors (both regular and curly)
- Glue stick (or PVA glue)
How we decorate crafts with voluminous flowers.
Cut out circles of different sizes from colored paper. Cut each circle with scissors, moving from the edge to the center in a spiral. We twist the spirals using a skewer. The result was wonderful rose buds! Glue them to the front of the card.
Make a vase from cardboard or dark paper. Glue it to the card under the bouquet. The final decoration is a bright ribbon tied in a bow and a strip of paper with a congratulation. Beauty!

3d postcard
If classic postcards seem too simple to you, then we suggest making an unusual 3D version with your own hands.
You will need:
- cardboard of different colors;
- pencil or pen;
- ruler;
- stationery knife;
- glue;
- decorative elements.
Take four sheets of cardboard and make markings on three of them, as shown in the photo.
Cut out cardboard frames along the lines. 
From the remaining pieces of paper, cut out two strips of cardboard of each color. Dimensions are shown in the photo. We mark and trim the corners of the workpieces. Fold the strips to form a zigzag. 
We take the frame that will be the front of the postcard. From the wrong side we glue zigzags to the short sides of the rectangle. 
Apply glue to the inner zigzag strip. 
Carefully glue the second frame so that the edges do not extend beyond the postcard. 
We repeat the same with the other side. 
The result is this blank for a postcard. 
We repeat the same steps and glue the third frame and the fourth sheet of cardboard. 
We cut out various elements from cardboard and use decor to create a stylish card.
Card for a girl
To make a cute card for a girl, we will prepare the following materials:
- white cardboard;
- purple paper;
- scrapbooking paper in three versions;
- pink ribbon;
- glue;
- pencil or pen;
- decorative hole punch;
- sequins;
- transparent film;
- compass;
- scissors;
- ruler;
- glitter foamiran.
Let’s start creating the base for the postcard. To do this, fold white cardboard in half. 
Cut out a rectangle from purple paper the size of one part of the base. Glue it on top of the card. 
From white cardboard, cut out a rectangle a few centimeters smaller than the postcard. On plain paper, draw circles with a compass and cut them out, as shown in the photo. 
We trace the templates on pre-prepared cardboard and carefully cut them out.
Cut out squares from transparent film. Glue them to a piece of cardboard. 
Transfer the smallest template to pink paper and cut out a circle. 
Cut out a square from scrapbooking paper. 
Glue the square to the back of the cardboard, but only on three sides.
Pour the sequins into the pocket between the paper and the film. Glue the fourth side of the square. 
Take scrapbooking paper of a different shade and cut out another square. 
We glue it to the workpiece, just like the previous one.
Pour sequins of a different color into the pocket and seal the hole. On glitter foamiran we draw a number that corresponds to the age of the birthday girl. 
Carefully cut out the number. 
From the same foamiran we cut flowers using a decorative hole punch. 
Glue the last cut circle between the two windows on the workpiece. 
Glue a number onto the circle. Decorate the card with flowers to your liking. 
We form bows from pink ribbon. 
Cut off small pieces of tape. 
Glue bows and ribbons so that the circles look like balloons. 
If the pieces of tape are too long, glue the edges on the back side. 
Glue the finished composition to the base of the card. 
A beautiful, gentle card for a young lady is ready! 
Postcard for mom with a voluminous paper tulip
A very beautiful card for mom can be made from paper. A special decoration of the card is a multi-layered tulip. To make a multi-layer tulip, fold a pink sheet of paper into an accordion shape. On the fold of the accordion we draw half a tulip.
Cut out blanks from paper according to the sample.
Glue the tulip blanks together, forming a three-dimensional bud.
We make the packaging of the bouquet from a circle, the edges of which are bent towards the center. Glue the petals and flower to the top of the circle.
Place the bouquet on a cardboard base folded in half.
Mother’s Day card with foamiran flowers
The basis of the postcard will be a folded sheet of soft peach-colored cardboard. Decorate the front side of the card with blue paper and braid. We make a heart out of sequins, inside which we write the dearest word – “mother”.
Cut out petals from yellow foamiran (foam rubber) and paint them. We will get interesting and natural halftones if we paint the petals by rubbing crushed pastel chalk into them.
Foamiran begins to change under the influence of high temperature. We heat the petals on an iron. While the petal is hot, twist it and bend it in the middle, trying to give it a natural look.
Cut out a flower cup from green foamiran. Heat it on the iron and shape it into a cup.
Wrap green tape or duct tape around the wire. We should now have a stem.
We begin to form a bud from the petals, wrapping them around the stem and fixing them with glue.
Make a hole in the sepal, insert the stem into it and fix it with glue at the base of the bud. We make three such flowers.
Glue large roses from the petals.
Cut out leaves from green foamiran. We make veins on them using the same principle – heat them on an iron and apply them to a relief surface (you can use a real sheet). We make small nicks at the ends.
Putting our composition together. Glue the buds on the stem and green leaves onto the card.
Glue large roses. Inside we write warm wishes for our beloved mother. We made a very tender and beautiful card for Mother’s Day!
Card with hearts
This card looks soulful, because the accent detail will be a heart. You can give it to your significant other or mother.
To make it, use:
- white paper;
- scarlet paper;
- glue;
- with scissors.
All work will consist of five stages:
- First, start making templates for the hearts. You can redraw ready-made images, but it’s not difficult to cope without them. Fold the white paper in half and draw a big heart. Now let’s use multi-colored paper. From it we cut out a strip with a width of four centimeters and fold the resulting workpiece like an accordion. Such an accordion should have about six sections. On the outermost section draw half a heart, its middle should be on the fold.
- From the resulting blanks, cut out hearts along the contour. The result should be two large white hearts and three scarlet ones.
- We connect the blanks. We attach small hearts to white ones using PVA. They should open like an accordion. We put the entire product on a postcard.
- We sign the finished gift with a pleasant text in a convenient place.
- If your card seems empty, then you can decorate them with beads, ribbons or sparkles.

Пасхальная открытка
Для создания открытки подготовим:
- картон белого цвета;
- акварельная бумага белого цвета;
- крафт-бумага;
- кружевная лента;
- клей;
- шаблон в виде яйца;
- декоративные трава, листья и цветы;
- ножницы;
- линейка;
- карандаш!
Складываем картон белого цвета пополам. Именно это и будет основой открытки. 
Приклеиваем заготовку к крафт-бумаге лицевой стороной. 
Края крафт-бумаги заворачиваем и приклеиваем вовнутрь открытки. Разрезаем углы, как показано на фото. 
Приклеиваем крафт-бумагу к открытке с внутренней стороны. 
Вырезаем шаблон яйца и переносим его на акварельную бумагу. 
Отрезаем три кружевные ленты. Собираем декоративные цветы и листики в единую композицию. 
Приклеиваем две яркие ленточки к заготовке, а концы заворачиваем вовнутрь. 
Прикрепляем к ленточкам композицию из цветов. 
Поверх букета приклеиваем третью ленту, концы заворачиваем во внутреннюю часть. 
Декорируем яйцо ленточкой с верхней и нижней стороны. 
К лицевой стороне основы открытки прикрепляем декоративную траву, за исключением центральной части.
