Tulips are symbols of spring. These modest and delicate flowers are liked by many. Therefore, they are often found in creativity and crafts, including those made from paper.
If you’ve never made paper flowers, the best place to start is with tulips. They are not difficult to make, and even a child can cope with such work.
Create a tulip from colored paper
Let’s start with one of the simpler options. Suitable for children’s creativity. Drawing paper pictures with children has a beneficial effect on their development, developing fine motor skills, imagination and sense of taste.
Panel of paper tulips
For work we will need three squares of colored paper with a side of 30 mm.
Fold the square diagonally and then in half. Then we open and bend the corners of the resulting triangle, as in the illustration.
From the resulting paper buds we make an applique or a postcard.
There is another very simple version of a children’s craft in the form of a panel.
Fold the square again diagonally and then in half. Only now do we begin to let the corners of the triangle extend beyond the edges of its sides.
We do the stem in a similar way.
Children really like this craft. To create it, it is better to use double-sided colored paper.
Again we need square spaces. Fold the piece diagonally and find the center. We make a fold line along it. Open it and make a cut along perpendicular lines approximately in the center.
Now glue it to form a cup. This will be our sprout.
Roll the stems into a green paper tube. We cut the end and plant the bud on the stem.
So, let’s distinguish the way that imagination suggests.
Tulip stencils. Cut out paper templates
There are many ways to make paper tulips. You can make a flower using templates.
You can use gift paper, colored paper and scrapbooking paper.
Draw it yourself or print out a pattern for flowers, trace the outline, cut it out.
Take a large part (petal) and attach a paper or plastic rod in the shape of a tube with glue to it. Glue the remaining parts on top of each other. We get voluminous flowers. Do you like the idea?
You can work together and use more than just paper as a material. Such crafts look more interesting.
The version pictured below features green chenille yarn for the stems and a stenciled tulip.
We prepare three blanks according to the pattern, cut them out and glue them together, inserting a fluffy stem inside.
Tulips using origami technique
The ancient art of origami is amazing in that three-dimensional figures are created without the use of scissors and glue.
To make a tulip flower, we will need double-sided colored paper and a diagram to follow.
We bring to your attention two popular schemes:
Before you get creative, try folding the flower onto a larger piece of paper. This will make the diagram easier to understand.
It may be difficult for beginners to work according to the scheme, so you can use video materials.
You can also make a tulip using the modular origami technique, but remember that this is painstaking work that requires a lot of time and perseverance.
Paper tulip on a postcard
Let’s consider creating three-dimensional appliques on a postcard. They are a little more difficult to complete, but the result of the work looks more attractive.
Cut out five pattern pieces and fold in the center.
You can use one color of paper or use several.
We fix the edges with a stapler.
Then we again give free rein to our imagination and experiment with the form of the postcard and its execution.
This gem can be placed in the center of a book card. Thanks to its shape it does not wrinkle.
Tulips using the quilling technique look very delicate. This craft will decorate your interior and will be interesting for an adult to work with.
Tulip with corrugated paper candy
Flowers made from corrugated paper look life-like. This material can be stretched and twisted. Professional craftsmen create entire edible compositions from paper and candies.
You can make such an original gift with your own hands.
Make round candies, wire, hair dryer and crepe paper.
For the tulip we make patterns: petals and leaves. Cut out the pieces. For a flower we need six or more petals and two leaves. To make part of the petal take the desired shape, we lengthen it in width.
Using hot glue, attach the lollipops to the string, and then glue them together with petals.
Wrap the stem in green paper and secure the leaves. The deck is ready.
It’s always nice to receive flowers as a gift. And if they are made by hand from colored paper, this is especially valuable. The material in this article will help you master the technique of making tulips. Give yourself and your loved ones the joy of creativity! May there always be spring in your soul.
